Andy Goldfarb, 61, of Sherman Oaks aced the 15th hole at the Palmer Private course at PGA West in the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic on Jan. 21. Goldfarb, 61, won $50,000 in credits on a Sentient Jet, and the other $50,000 is donated to the Desert Classic Charities. Goldfarb, a member at Sherwood Country Club, aced the 156-yard par-3 15th hole at the Palmer Private Course at PGA West.
``It was the ugliest shot I hit for a hole-in-one,'' Goldfarb said. ``I hit it right, hit the rough, bounced on the green and went downhill toward the water. It tracked and all nine of us were watching. It hit the flag and went straight down.''
Goldfarb used a 51-degree sand wedge for his ace. He has three career holes-in-one, two of which came at Sherwood Country Club.
Goldfarb, who's retired, said he's participating in his 15th Bob Hope Classic. He also said he probably will donate some of his jet credits as well. Goldfarb also bought drinks for about 15-20 people at the 19th hole, too.
